About the Treatment

Skin resurfacing is the ability to treat scars, discoloration, wrinkles, and skin laxity with fractional lasers. There are two types of lasers that can be used for skin resurfacing: CO2RE and Sublative. The powerful yet versatile CO2RE from Syneron and Candela features dual laser waves that can be adjusted to penetrate the skin at both superficial and deep levels simultaneously. Sublative Laser Skin Resurfacing uses bipolar radio frequency to target deep skin damage, while leaving the outer layer of the skin untouched. This means less recovery time with effective results. Both fractional laser resurfacing technologies are proven to be extremely effective in treating pigmentation and skin laxity.

How it Works

During laser resurfacing, an intense beam of light energy (laser) is directed at your skin. The laser beam destroys the outer layer of skin(epidermis) and at the same time, heats the under lying skin(dermis). Thos stimulates collagen production over time, resulting in better skin tone and texture.

FAQs

Can I go in the sun afterwards?

Your skin will be pink for several months after your laser resurfacing treatment and very susceptible to sun damage, so you will have to protect it with a good sunscreen with a sun protection factor of 30 or higher and cover it for up to a year. Excessive and direct sun exposure will undo everything that the laser resurfacing has done.

How do I take care of my skin after skin resurfacing?

Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly (or any occlusive moisturizer) or antibiotic ointment to the area twice a day until the skin heals. Daily sunscreen application is necessary after healing to protect the newly laser-resurfaced skin.

Is there any recovery?

Five to seven days after laser resurfacing, your skin will become dry and peel. Let it peel naturally. Depending on the problem that was treated, healing typically takes 10 to 21 days. Once the skin heals, you can wear oil-free makeup to minimize redness, which usually fades in two to three months.

I have been a customer for over 5 years and truly would not trust anyone else. Dr Boulos really cares about her customers long term goals and will go out of her way to educate her customers on the treatments they are receiving so you understand the full process.

I have referred her to many friends and family who are also repeat customers and are blown away by her professionalism and experience.

Dr. Boulos is truly one of a kind. As a physician it goes without saying that she is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, but her most endearing quality is the warm personal connection she makes with each & every patient she sees. She takes the time to advise on all things health & beauty related.

From the effects of internal inflammatory issues related to skin health all the way to superficial aesthetics, she guides her patients from start to finish. I have seen her starring at patient before and after pictures, constantly evaluating and analyzing how she can improve the results, because she constantly strives to be better. Her spa is a reflection of her personality, elegant warm & welcoming!

I went to Dr. Boulos with the intention to get neuromodulator injections. After having the most honest conversation, she recommended how important it was that I treat the cystic acne I did not know I had. I was almost in tears in her office and was fearful I would develop scaring on my face.

Thankfully, she immediately had a plan for me to complete acid peel facials and sent me home with some skin care products. No word of a lie, within a week I was able to see results in my skin with the products she gave me. If you're struggling with your skin and want to see someone who is going to be honest and provide you with the best, you need to go see her. I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am that I decided to go to her!

Such a beautiful and clean spa! I’ve been seeing Dr. Boulos for a few years now for neuromodulators, fillers, and facials. I’ll admit I’m not the best with the needles but she makes me feel so comfortable and puts up with my craziness.

She is very knowledgeable and makes the best decisions for you with no pressure to do anything right away. Her staff is also very accommodating and kind, they are wonderful at what they do.
